Susan Boyle: Scotland's Beautiful Church Lady

I did watch this video and I have to say I needed to watch it many times. My first reaction was how quickly we judge one another. I have worked on this "affliction" of mine for years and the more I let go of my personal judgments the more I fine life exciting and fulfilling. I also found this video a statement in "courage". God gave Susan Boyle a gift and she concentrated on this special blessing with confidence and courage no matter what, I don't think she even heard or felt the reaction of the audience as she stood in front of hundreds of skeptical and at times snickering people. We immediately had to step back and feel a little bit ashamed when the truth who she really was came out beautifully through her voice and song. This is how I want to walk in Christ - strong, unwavering, confident and proud. Knowing it will not be easy but not caring and continuing to have Faith. Luke 18:27 "But He said, "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God".

Thanks for posting this is video Cheeky - have a great day.

Won't it be interesting to follow Susan Boyle's new "career," assuming she will allow her beautiful voice to be heard. Whether she wins or loses the competition, she will be heard. She is already known worldwide! Oftentimes I think Simon is so bored that he could walk away from the table. It was FUN watching his face come alive the minute the first note flowed from Susan's mouth. He knows talent! I love how encouraging he is when he sees real talent. Too bad he is so cutting when the person before him isn't so talented. Thanks for posting this beautiful video.

Hi Linda and Donna,
Thanks so much for your comments. Linda, I don't know if you can sing but you do stand proud and lovely and make all us other church ladies want to do the same. Donna, you saw the same ostensibly cynical man touched by a bit of covert church lady love. Love that you are tuned in! And that you are spreadin' it too! xoxox ladies, Cheeks

I am behind reading these posts, and though I have heard in the media all the hype about susan boyle I had not heard her sing before. Wow, it does leave one speechless! I agree it makes me ashamed about 'pre assumptions' we make about people, but then you really feel redeemed by her beautiful singing. What a joy to listen to that! Thanks for posting the video.

She makes me smile, too. I hope she sticks to her beautiful church lady ways. 'Though I heard she just got a makeover. Guess I'd take a free makeover, too. Hope she keeps fighting the good fight. xo, Cheeks
